Why YOU're do it wrong
The misinformation
it exists because traditional perfumes were never engineered for layering
- Marketing
- Gimmick
- Content
- Mislead
For decades, brands and influencers have taught people that layering means:
- Mixing random perfumes
- Pairing floral with citrus / woody with oriental
- “Don’t pair floral with floral” (nonsense)
- Using petroleum jelly as primer
- Buying 10–20 perfumes for every season
- Spraying different perfumes on different body parts
- Guessing, trial-and-error, and being “creative”
Most perfumes were built as standalone compositions — mixing them is unpredictable and mostly accidental.
So brands teach complicated methods to sell more perfumes, not to empower users.
